CardMaker & Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Hop!

Join us today as we blog hop with CardMaker Magazine & Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L!  You should have arrived from Kelly Klapstein's blog, if not, head on back to the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog and start there!

For my card today, I started with the wood chip piece. I love these fun quirky little things, and will often use them as my starting point for a project.  I adhered the wood chip to the die cut using Dodz™ Small.  The Spellbinders die is adhered to the journaling card using 3D Foam Squares, and then adhered to the card using Crafty Foam Tape.  I finished my card off with a little pop of color from some enamel dots and some ribbon.

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® is sponsoring two Adhesive Prize packages worth $25 each. One winner will be randomly drawn from comments on the Crafty Power Blog, and the other will be randomly drawn from comments on the participating blog posts.  Be sure to comment on each blog for your chances to win. The contest is open from June 19, 8:00 am EST, until June 21, 8:00 am EST. Winners will be announced on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Crafty Power Blog!

I love you more every day

Happy Fathers Day!!  While my card isn't too masculine, it could easily be used for Fathers day.
Every once in a while, it's nice to create your own stamped background- patterned paper is still one of my go to's for crafting, but if you have the right stamps, (and inks ;)  you can create any type of patterned paper of your own.  And Chevrons are still one of my favorite basics!

For my card today, I stamped the chevron background in Memento London Fog ink, and then every third row I switched it up and used Grey Flannel for a little bit of contrast.  The circle die cut was stamped using Teal Zeal.  The sentiment was stamped using Memento Luxe Teal Zeal.

off to day two of a soccer tournament-
enjoy!

Avery Elle/IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko hop

Today is a fun day because Imagine Crafts® / Tsukineko® & Avery Elle have paired up for a blog hop!  There are going to be a lot of amazing projects on the hop today showing how well Avery Elle and Imagine Crafts / Tsukineko products work together.  We also have a fun giveaway, so be sure to visit all of the blogs participating.

For my card, I decided to go with clean.  I love clean anyway, so it's not a stretch! ;)  Avery Elle's stamps are so fun and I like them to be the focus when using them.  I used the middle and largest flower from the Blossoms & Blooms set.  I stamped the middle flower using Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko's new Memento Luxe™ Mixed Media Pigment Ink in Dandelion and Rose Bud.  (my go to colors for flowers ;)
I finished the card off with the sentiment from the same set using VersaFine™ Archival Pigment Ink in Onyx Black, a few gems and some wash tape.

CFC104- another congrats card!

It's time for another clean and simple challenge- and today it's all about banners and flags! Perfect for this time of year!
And this week's winner will win a gift certificate to shop at Ellen Hutson's awesome store.

My card came together just like I envisioned it in my head.  I can't pinpoint what it is about white space I adore, but less is SO much more!  I find that as I get older it's tricking over into my real world as well. Less clutter and stuff, and more open clean space.  So, to mix it up a bit I splattered a bit of IMAGINE Crafts All Purpose Inks onto my card before adhering my banners and attaching it to the card base.  Stamps are Lawn Fawn, Spellbinders dies, and IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko Inks.

I have been really bad these last few weeks posting here- but I am hoping to see that change here soon. :)  Kids will be done with school soon, 2 of the 3 sports are now done, and my husbands race that he's been training for for the last 6+ months will soon come and we can all slow down just a bit. For a moment at least.

enjoy!

CFC103 Congrats

Happy almost weekend! It's time for another CAS-ual Fridays challenge!  Today's challenge is a simple one, and one that is handy for this time of year! Who doesn't need a Congrats card at the end of school year? ;)

For my card today, I usedSpellbinders Spiral Blossoms One and the Foliage dies for my flower.  Now that the flowers are finally starting to bloom around here, I seem to be using more inside as well!   I adhered a strip of Authentique paper to my case, and then stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn.

Make sure to head over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog and check out the others samples!

Happy Friday!  I am SO thrilled it's a long weekend!  I am in desperate need of a few days of NO RUNNING around to school/after school clubs/soccer/softball/etc. :)

I am sharing a few quickie cards today using IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® new Memento LUXE™ Mixed Media Pigment Ink in Dandelion, Rose Bud, & Teal Zeal.  I used Avery Elle's Blooming Banner to whip up a few quick cards to have on hand!
The Memento Luxe mixed media ink is so rich and thick it is perfect for clear stamps-the coverage is perfect!!  And it's great for fabrics, wood, leather and more.

For my next card, I left it a it cleaner, and adding the yellow pop of color below.  I used the same color scheme, and added a few pink gems instead.

enjoy~

CFC102 Celebrate

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

This weeks CAS-ual Friday challenge is to use Red, White, and Blue on your card to celebrate the upcoming Memorial Day holiday!

This weeks sponsor is Simon Says Stamp!

For my card today, I used Avery Elle's Celebrate set.  I stamped the red line all the way across the card on the angle, but had to stretch the blue by covering the gap in the middle with my die cut.  ;)  I adhered a few sequins to finish it off!

make sure to check out the others projects on the Cas-ual Fridays blog!

You Inspire Me

Hola!

I'm back with another card for this month's artist in residence post- today I am using several different inks to create a few custom colors for my card!! :)

For my card today, I started with several Spellbinders dies for my inspiration.  After cutting/embossing each one, I left them in the die template to ink through with my IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento™ Dye inks using the IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Sponge Daubers™.
For the top butterfly, I inked the inside of the butterfly with Dandelion, and while still wet, I started adding Lady Bug and blended it into the Dandelion color.  Working quickly while the ink is still wet, it blends nicely to create an orange hue in between the two colors.
I did the same thing with the following butterflies, starting with the Cantaloupe on the middle one, and working out to Teal Zeal.  The last butterfly I started with the Bahama Blue, and blended into the Sweet plum.  I love the rainbow effect it came out with.

enjoy!

Guest Blogger, Stacey Caron from Spellbinders Paper Arts

Hello Everyone!

I’m so thrilled to write a guest post on AJ Otto’s blog!

My name is Stacey Caron and I have known AJ for several years through my company, Spellbinders Paper Arts!   AJ is such a “real” person and I appreciate her more than she will ever know!  AJ will become the new 2013-2014 Spellbinders Design Team Coordinator in August. I am so thrilled that she has made the decision to get more involved with Spellbinders!

Three years ago, when AJ began designing for Spellbinders, I knew she “got it."  She creates projects that inspire but aren’t intimidating!  All the Spellbinders designers have a unique style and AJ’s “less is more” artistic style was exactly what I was looking for!

I’d like to share one of my all-time favorite projects that AJ created. I even used it in an ad for Spellbinders!  Be sure to check out the supply list and brief instructions, so that you are able to create your own cute Advent Box!

I want to take the time to Thank AJ for allowing me to do a guest post on her blog. It is truly an honor to be exposed to her readership this way.

The top three things I admire about AJ are:

• AJ’s inner strength- She has met the enemy head on and fought cancer as a fierce warrior, inspiring all who know her.

• AJ’s ability to keep things simple and beautiful has helped me see how less is really more.

• AJ’s calming presence-She has always helped me find a soft peaceful place to go in my crafting.
Thank you so much for allowing me to guest blog and share myself with you today.

Hugs,
