It seems like I tend to title my posts close to the same thing...a lot!  I am certain that I have said Happy Hump day already... and it's day 3 of KOM sneak peeks, so that's nothing new...I am left title less today! ;)

So this week is officially the last week of the month, and we have KOM sneak peeks for you, and some new release projects!

First up- here is the sneak peek for you today- (more to come tomorrow)

If you stop by the Unity blog today- you will see some Suzi Blu goodness there!  Here is another one to add to the sneak peeks!  I went with 'out of the box' colors for me since the image lends itself to being super original! ;)  I did color her with copics, added lots of glitter, and attached her to a Spellbinders™ Ric Rac Diamond Borderabilities® petite.  

I stamped the background with the worn grid- my backgrounds had escaped my use for a while due to craft room reorganization. (translation = I misplaced a few things ;)

So-I am sure you have all seen THIS by now.... And since mine arrived in my mail box recently- I couldn't help but play a little with them!  This is the Togetherness Families set.  How cute are those little squirrels?? (if they aren't squirrels, please don't burst my bubble! ;)

Looking forward to summer break...

Anyone else out there having a GO-GO-GO sort of summer break?!  Where's the break part??! 

This last weekend we celebrated a birthday-

This kid will be turning 11 this week, and couldn't be happier about a bag of red vines for a gift! ;) I LOVE that!  How much longer will that be an acceptable gift?

I got the spend the day with my girlfriend who has been in Thailand for the last 2 years.  She recently moved back, but is now 2 hours away- The kids had a great time playing all day while the adults sat and talked the night away!  I wish she wasn't SO far away!

We then spent a leisurely day out at our family's beach property on hood canal...This photo is taken by my photographer in training, my 6 year old. ;)  She LOVES to snap pictures- and this one was actually decent...minus the fact I have zero makeup on or hair done!

oh- I almost forgot-

I do have a card to share...but now you see why I have been far and few from posting regularly!  Summer is meant to spent outside with friends and family and I am just doing my part! ;)

This is the current KOM from Unity, and uses Spellbinders™ dies.  Paper is from MME, and ribbon is May Arts.   Isn't that little row of animals marching just adorable??!

Monday

Happy Monday- We had a crazy busy weekend. 

We had my son's birthday party Friday night, which ended with 5, yes, FIVE kids sleeping over.
Then Saturday, we went to my girlfriends house for a BBQ on Saturday which is 2 hours away....
And on Sunday we headed out to the beach house for some R&R which requires another hour plus drive and some packing and coordinating of meals, etc.  Which means the R&R was minimal! ;)

Stamp Simply time

Sorry for posting a bit later than normal- We celebrated my sons birthday tonight and I lost track of time!  He's going to be 11 in one week and I am still not sure how that happened...

onto the card- This week's challenge is a sketch- and a great one imo! :) From Sharon's blog-

A CAS Sketch - Today I prepared a Clean and Simple Sketch for you to follow.  I love to see the different looks achieved by using the same basic sketch — and that said, you can go CAS if you prefer OR you can dress up this basic sketch as much as you like!  It’ll be fun to see the variances! Have fun with it!!!

 

For my card today I went ultra simple...I have been missing my CAS style lately and wanted to get back at it!  I did turn the sketch on its side instead of as shown.

  Stamps are WaltzingMouse and the die is the new Labels Fourteen from Spellbinders™.  Paper is Cosmo.  I used Hug Snug again for my ribbon- I really like how the bows turn out!

I have two projects to share with you today. For the first project, a gift bag and gift card set card, I have included directions to show you how to create a frame using the Punch templates.  For the second project, holiday treats gift set, I will share more details with you soon.

I’m thrilled to share the P5-005 Holiday Joy and P3-013 Scalloped Square Presto punch templates with you.

Here is the gift bag and gift card set.

To create the ornament for both the bag and gift card, simply place the ornament from the punch template P5-005 Holiday Joy with the punching edge down onto the WorldWin Gold Mirror Cast Hi Gloss card stock.  

 

Leaving your punch template intact with the card stock inside, place cutting edge down in embossing booklet.  Insert into the Presto Punch machine, press the down button until the motor stops, then the up button until the booklet can be removed from the machine.  I have created a beautiful embossed image.

 

Here is a close up of the finished punched/embossed ornament.

To create the frame around the gift tag, simply place both punch templates on top of paper, punching edge down in the cutting booklet.  Punch and emboss as above.

 

You can easily create frames with Presto Punch templates as well. 

To create the white center where I stamped the WaltzingMouse sentiment, I used the P3-013 Scalloped Square #2 punch template and WorldWin white card stock.

 

I punched/embossed a P3-013 Scalloped Square #3 from the gold card stock.  I placed the frame and white stamped piece on the back side if it, so that both sides of this tag were finished and attractive.

 To create the scalloped edge border along the red patterned paper, simply punch/emboss several more of the gold scalloped squares. 

I then cut them in half and lined them up behind the Robin's Nest Canada Stripe Pattern Paper.

For a yummy treat to put inside the gift bag, I made a holiday treats gift set.  I wrapped more of the patterned paper around a candy bar.  I created another Scalloped Square tag and adorned it with the Poinsettia from the P5-005 Holiday Joy set.  I also filled a cello bag full of candy cane Hershey's kisses

 

To create the Candy Cane tag, I used Spellbinders™ Red Premium Craft Foil.  I punched/embossed, then sanded the foil to show the silver underneath.

 

For that little extra something on the tag, I added 3 Kaiser Craft gems for the holly berries.

Here is the whole ensemble together, this would make for a fabulous teacher or hostess gift at Christmas time.

I am sharing my layout I did for Spellbinders™ gallery- They have new art up, make sure to check it out between Blog Frenzy posts!

This is one of my favorite pictures of Will.  His hair is that perfect length, he's dressed with a nice collared shirt, and he's even striking a cool guy pose.  The awesome door he's leaning on has such character.  He was such a sport letting me stop to take pictures this day! (It was Mother's day, he sort of had to! ;)
It uses S4-112 Classic Ovals SM; S4-251 Big Scalloped Ovals LG; S7-018 Big Scalloped Border Grand.  I LOVE the Big Scalloped border- 12" of big scallops!

I am enjoying a cooler day here in the PNW, we are in the high 70's today as opposed to the HIGH 90's we jumped into a few days ago...

Here is my card...I cut a piece of white card stock 1/4" smaller than my base and cut it into 3 pieces.
I stamped the key background image onto each piece in different colors and then mounted with foam tape. I cut out the circles with my Spellbinders™ dies. I stamped the bird and cut him out and also mounted with foam tape. I just love how that black makes everything POP.

Using background stamps is a great way to replace that patterned paper addiction so many of us have...if you are looking for a cure (I'm ok with my patterned paper issues! ;)

This weeks Stamp Simply challenge is Christmas in July. Perfect- I have been working on Christmas all month it seems! I used Graphic 45's perfect gentleman collection, (the colors were speaking to me! ;) I also used on of Unity's CHA releases- it's a great little Christmas set. LOVE it!
Pretty simple and easy peasy- when mass producing Christmas cards, I don't like to be too fussy!

Hip Hop Graphic 45 style!

Happy Thursday peeps!

We are still teaming up with Graphic 45 this week and today's a HIP HOP day- so the party is on over at the SCS forums!

I reallllly like that little house image- I should have probably made my card square though...it's off with the square on the rectangle like that I think....
anyway- I used that seam binding and colored it with my copic to match the paper, and I inked up the edges of the die and any my card.

Every once in a while I like to mess it up a bit. But it's not often. ;)

We took off for the holiday an enjoyed some seriously needed downtime out at the beach...and of course some explosives as well. ;)

My card uses the new Scrapbook Royalty kit from Melody Ross. The paper is from the Domestic Goddess collection- I think my favorite collection from them by far!
